Donald Trump played a what-if game and then thanked himself in the third person in an attempt to deflect blame for his attack on Iran.
Trump, 79, first made dubious claims about the nuclear deal agreed to by the Obama administration on Monday in a “Truth Social” posting spree that lasted into Tuesday morning.
“If I had not terminated Obama’s terrible JCPOA, Iran would have had nuclear weapons three years ago,” he argued. “This is the most dangerous deal we have ever made, and if it had been allowed to stand, the world would be a completely different place right now. You can blame Barack Hussein Obama and Sleepy Joe Biden.”
He ended the post with an all-caps slap on the back: “Thank you President Trump!”

But according to the New York Times, experts have questioned Trump’s theory, and he has also made some claims to try to sell war to the American people: Iran has restarted its nuclear program, can build a bomb within days, and is building missiles that can reach the United States.
Furthermore, Obama warned that what is happening now could very well happen. He said the United States may have to “choose between a nuclear-armed Iran and another Middle East war” after Trump withdrew from the 2015 deal.
Later Monday night, Trump imagined another scenario in an attempt to justify another of his Middle East wars.

“The radical left Democrats, a party that has completely lost its way, are complaining vehemently about a very necessary and important attack by the United States and Israel on Iran,” he wrote. “Most people’s understanding is that they are only complaining because I did it, and if I didn’t, they would be screaming – why doesn’t ‘Trump’ attack Iran, which he should do immediately?”
“The truth is, no matter what I do, they’re going to be on the opposite side,” he later added.

Trump then shared a link to a Fox News column by self-described Democrat Doug Schoen, who supported his attack on Iran, and a link to his former National Economic Council director, Larry Kudlow, who gave favorable coverage of the topic on the Fox Business Network.
As of Monday, more than 550 people had died in Iran, according to the Iranian Red Crescent emergency service. In Lebanon, the health ministry estimated the death toll at at least 31. At least ten people were killed in Israel. Six U.S. service members also died.
A White House press release also appeared in The Truth Society, urging Americans not to “panic” because “new victories are emerging every day.” However, the release date for this version was three weeks ago.

Just before midnight on Monday, Trump posted again on Truth Social, claiming that U.S. ammunition stocks have “never been higher or better,” but then added that the U.S. still needs more.
Without naming names, he said he was told on Monday that the United States has an “almost unlimited” supply of “intermediate and high-level” weapons.
“Using just these supplies (better than other countries’ best weapons!), the war can be fought ‘forever’ and very successfully. At the top end, we have plenty of supplies, but not quite where we want them to be,” Trump said, noting that outlying countries also stockpile “additional high-end weapons.”

Trump continued the insult, “Sleepy Joe Biden spent all his time and our country’s money giving everything to PT Barnum (Zelensky!) in Ukraine – worth hundreds of billions of dollars – and, while he gave away so much super high-end (for free!), he couldn’t be bothered to replace it. Fortunately, I rebuilt the military during my first term and will continue to do so. America is fully stocked and ready to win, BIG!!!”
Trump also tweeted about a series of topics that had nothing to do with Iran. In addition to hyping Melania Trump’s speech to the United Nations Security Council and his administration’s efforts to lower prescription drug prices, the president also announced that he would end his boycott of the White House Correspondents’ Association’s annual dinner.
Trump said he made the decision because of the 250th anniversary and that “these ‘journalists’ now acknowledge that I am indeed one of the greatest presidents in the history of our country, and according to many, I am the GOAT…”
He didn’t say who.

The dinner is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, at the Washington Hilton. By then, attacks on Iran may be over; Trump said the war is expected to last “four to five weeks.” But he added that the United States has the ability to go “much further than that.”
At 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Trump was still posting. The president shared video of Texas Republican Chip Roy questioning former special counsel Jack Smith in January.
Smith, a longtime Trump foe, investigated Trump’s handling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. Trump shared an

The 79-year-old was feeling romantic at the time and shared a fan-made clip of him and Melania, including an early interview Allen Showing Trump’s first words revealed to his future third wife.
“I said ‘I want your phone number,'” Trump told the former talk show host, who fled the country after his second term as president. “It’s rough, but it works sometimes. You either get slapped or you get a number.”
