Trump finally breaks silence about bruised hands, health rumors, ‘caught napping’ charges

President Donald Trump has finally addressed persistent bruises on his hands and the sometimes-rife speculation that he is in poor health.

Trump directly addressed rumors about his health, telling the Wall Street Journal that the bruises and blemishes on his hands were the result of minor cuts and a daily regimen of aspirin.

The president said that he has been taking aspirin for 25 years and is unwilling to give up.

“I’m a little bit superstitious” about cutting back on aspirin, Trump said.

“I want good, thin blood to flow through my heart,” the president said.

The president admitted that he takes a higher dose of aspirin every day than his doctor recommends.

“They would rather have me take a smaller dose,” Trump said of the dosage. “I choose the larger one, but I’ve been doing it for years and what it does is cause bruising.”

Trump said he used concealer makeup on his hands to hide minor cuts, including one from an oversized diamond ring worn by current Attorney General Pam Bondi during the 2024 Republican National Convention.

“Yeah, a little minor cut,” Trump said of the injury he sustained while high-fiving Bundy at the convention.

The White House previously said Trump’s hands were also bruised from shaking hands with large numbers of people in the course of his duties.

The president told the Wall Street Journal that makeup “goes on very easily and takes about 10 seconds.”

“My health is excellent,” Trump added.

The White House told the Wall Street Journal that the president was in “excellent health.”

In July, it was reported that Trump, 79, suffers from chronic venous insufficiency, a circulatory disease common in people his age.

In the Wall Street Journal interview, Trump also pushed back against reports that he fell asleep or had trouble staying awake during public events and Cabinet meetings.

“Sometimes they take pictures of me blinking, blinking, and then they see how I blink,” the president said.
