Blizzards and snow showers are possible on Friday, and New Jersey is set to get another wave of frigid arctic air this weekend.
Temperatures across the state are expected to rise to around freezing and into the mid-30s on Tuesday, with a brief reprieve from the cold.
Light snow is possible across the southern half of the state Tuesday night as temperatures drop.
Up to 1 inch of snow could be covered primarily in Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Salem and parts of Gloucester, Burlington and Ocean counties.

The National Weather Service said flurries and flurries will end Wednesday morning.
“The next chance for snow will arrive on Friday and may continue into Friday night,” the weather service said. “A strong, fast sailing system is moving northward and an associated Arctic front will move through the area. It’s too early to describe any details of the system, but a period of light snow and/or snow squalls is possible.”

Temperatures will remain in the 20s and 30s Wednesday through Friday.
Wind chills will reach dangerously cold levels this weekend, potentially dropping to minus five degrees or lower, especially Sunday night.

Weekend lows will be in the single digits to 5 below zero.
By early next week, temperatures will remain in the teens and 20s as arctic air masses persist in the area.
