Bengaluru-based startup Simple Energy on Wednesday launched its latest electric scooter called Simple OneS in India. It joins existing options in the company’s EV range, which includes the Simple One and One Gen 1.5. The new electric scooter is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with a peak power output of 8.5 kW and accelerates from 0 to 40 kilometers per hour (kmph) in just 2.55 seconds. According to the company, it has a range of up to 181 km on a single charge, as per the Indian Driving Cycle (IDC).

Simple OneS price in India is Rs. 1,39,999 (ex-showroom). Electric vehicles (EVs) come with a single stationary battery pack option. It is available in four colors – Brass Black, Sky Blue, Elegant White and Namma Red.
Bookings for the scooter have already started and the electric scooter will be available at all 15 Simple Energy showrooms in India in Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Vizag, Kochi and Mangalore.

The Simple OneS is powered by a PMSM with an output of 8.5 kW and 72 Nm of torque, as well as a 3.7kWh battery pack, both of which help it achieve a top speed of 105 km/h and an IDC-claimed range of 180 km. The company says it can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 2.55 seconds, which is a few milliseconds shorter than the 2.77 seconds of the Simple One Gen 1.5.
The e-scooter is equipped with a Combined Braking System (CBS), which allows the rider to apply front and rear brakes simultaneously using a single lever. Simple Energy says its new OneS electric scooter has a stopping distance of 27 metres.
It is equipped with a 7-inch TFT screen, can connect to smartphones and supports route navigation. In addition, Simple OneS’s companion app is available on Android and iOS and supports features such as remote access, over-the-air (OTA) updates, ride statistics, route saving, remote alerts and Simple Tag.
