Russell Wilson is mourning the loss of a beloved family member.

The New York Giants quarterback announced the death of his Dalmatian dog, Naomi, on Friday, February 13, with a touching post on Instagram along with two photos honoring her.

The first photo showed Wilson smiling as he lay with Naomi at his side, while the second showed Naomi cuddling another Dalmatian, Prince, the family’s late dog who Wilson previously described as Naomi’s “soulmate.”

“Our lovely Naomi,” Wilson wrote in the caption. “Thank you for 12 years of hugs, kisses and loyalty. You brought so much love to our family and gave us so many happy memories.”

The father-to-be and husband, who have Sienna Princess, 8, Win Harrison, 5, Amora Princess, 1, and adopted son Future Zahir, 11, with his wife Ciara, continued: “You are now back in doggy heaven with your soulmate Prince! We love you forever ❤️”

This time last year, Wilson posted a similar post for Naomi’s brother, Prince, who died after a long battle with cancer.

On Instagram in January 2025, Wilson posted a photo of Prince and the couple, recalling receiving the puppies during his first year of professional football, calling Prince “a blessing to our family and bringing so many memories with our 4 kids with hugs and kisses.”

The touching tribute continued: “You will always be a part of us. Today was a difficult day. But you beat cancer twice and lived 12 years when most people only live 6. Heaven got a good man! Prince of Peace Forever. Love you.”
