Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY Retain WWE Women’s Tag Titles On First Defense At SNME

Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY retained the Women’s Tag Team Championship in their first defense of the title on Saturday night’s main event, defeating Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez. Despite interference from Raquel Rodriguez, RhIYO was able to get the job done and Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer stepped in to equalize the match.

Morgan and Sky started the match, but Judgment Day quickly took control of the match after Morgan targeted Perez. The women sequestered Sky into their corners. Perez lets Sky crawl toward Ripley, toying with her. At one point, both Perez and Sky were vying for the hot tag, with Perez successfully tagging Morgan, who tried to intercept the champ at the last second before she could tag Ripley, but was unsuccessful.

Ripley hits Morgan with a fallaway slam and counters her Codebreaker. Morgan counters the Razor’s Edge and tags Perez back. SKY fought back and forth with Morgan and Perez, and dodged Pop Rox. She hits the “Over the Moonsault” but Perez gets up and hits the “Pop Rox” but Sky kicks out.

Sky follows up with another moonsault after Ripley headbutts Perez and gets her to her feet for a riptide. She almost won the match until Rodriguez knocked Ripley down, knocking her onto the referee. Vaquel comes out and knocks Rodriguez down, and through it all, Perez is able to climb to the sky to cover her, but she kicks out.

After SKY got another tag, Morgan, unaware that Ripley was legit, challenged SKY to oblivion. Ripley catches her with a Riptide, allowing RhIYO to retain.
