Multiple accidents, stalled vehicles slow traffic on I-30 in southwest Arkansas

HOT SPRINGS COUNTY, Ark. — As winter weather sweeps across the Natural State, roads are covered in ice and snow, making travel hazardous.

According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation’s iDriveArkansas map, multiple vehicles stalled or were involved in accidents on Arkansas highways, including westbound Interstate 30 near Hot Springs County.

As of 3:37 p.m. Saturday, ARDOT crews reported an accident on westbound Mile Marker 76.9 in Clark County, 0.1 miles south of Caddo Valley, and an accident at Exit 83, 2.9 miles northeast of Caddo Valley, both of which impacted westbound traffic.

ARDOT crews also reported two totaled vehicles, one found at Mile Marker 87.7, 5.9 miles southwest of Malvern, and another found at Mile Marker 93.4, 1.9 miles northwest of Malvern.

The iDriveArkansas map also shows three accidents along I-30 between Nevada and Hempstead County, including westbound accidents at Mile Marker 43.5 .1 miles west of Prescott and westbound at Mile Marker 36.9, 2.4 miles northwest of Emmett. There was also an accident on eastbound Mile Marker 25.8, 3.1 miles west of Hope, hitting the right shoulder.
