OnePlus Unveils OP Gaming Core Technology With HyperRendering and OP FPS Max for OnePlus 15 Series

OnePlus on Monday announced its proprietary gaming technology, called OP Gaming Core, to address the challenges of mobile gaming. It is said to combine chip-level optimization with hardware and software tools to provide better control, responsiveness and stability during mobile gaming. A key part of this is new OP Gaming Core technology, which leverages the OnePlus CPU Scheduler to maintain a stable 120fps experience in popular games. It is powered by the new OnePlus Performance Tri-Chip integrating three physical chips and the high frame rate gaming solution OP FPS Max.

OP game core technology

For OnePlus, OP Gaming Core is a chip-level technology developed from more than 20,000 lines of original code that restructures the delivery of gaming performance at the hardware level. It is said to run on a base level of Android and is backed by 254 gaming optimization patents.

According to the brand, the new gaming technology will be available on the upcoming OnePlus 15 series.

At the heart of OP Gaming Core technology is the OnePlus CPU Scheduler. The brand said it adds intelligent computing resource allocation and replaces the Completely Fair Scheduler (CFS). The solution performs system analysis of gaming workloads to identify and optimize potential load points that hinder mission-critical execution. It is claimed that using this method can reduce mission-critical CPU instructions by up to 22.74%.

OnePlus claims that with CPU Scheduler, devices equipped with OP Gaming Core technology, such as the upcoming OnePlus 15, will deliver per-frame power control and a stable 120fps experience in popular games. It is also claimed to improve power efficiency and thermal management while reducing frame rate fluctuations.

OnePlus also released the next generation HyperRendering solution, which is said to be able to reconstruct the GPU pipeline and utilize optimized Vulkan driver layer instruction logic to achieve an 80% improvement in rendering efficiency per frame. Its addition results in the additional delay in frame interpolation being reduced to close to zero.

OnePlus three-chip

OnePlus’ OP Gaming Core technology is said to be complemented by the new Performance Tri-Chip. It is a chip-level hardware solution, including performance, touch response and Wi-Fi chip G2. According to the company, the Performance Tri-Chip is built on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. A dedicated touch-responsive chip is said to speed up touch processing offloaded from the SoC. Supports 330Hz touch sampling rate and 3200Hz instantaneous sampling rate.

At the same time, the Wi-Fi chip G2 is equipped with advanced radio frequency modules, SmartLink and other algorithms. OnePlus says it can help improve network connections in weak signal environments by optimizing connection stability and reducing lagging, resulting in a smoother gaming experience.

In addition to the Performance Tri-Chip, OnePlus has also launched a high frame rate gaming solution called OP FPS Max. It has a custom 165Hz display with native 165fps support. Here, OP Gaming Core technology is said to offer chip-level optimization, while Performance Tri-Chip offers improved touch response and better connectivity.

According to OnePlus, the technology is already being used to deliver 165fps gaming experiences in popular games and will be supported by more game and industry partners in the future.
