Jaguars post-free agency position review: What’s the need at DT?

With the NFL free agency market nearing a standstill, we’ll be evaluating the current status of each position group for the Jacksonville Jaguars, specifically the current state of the situation and whether more action is needed.

The Jaguars’ free agency has been very quiet compared to the rest of the league. General manager James Gladstone recently explained the reasoning behind this, and it has to do with the 2027 compensatory draft picks the Jaguars are expected to receive. I’m also guessing the Jaguars’ tight salary cap situation isn’t helping in this regard either.

Therefore, the best avenue to address remaining needs may be the NFL Draft, where the Jaguars have 11 picks, including four in the top 100, and have the flexibility to allow the board to decide their direction with each selection.

The next thing we’re going to review is defensive tackle. If you missed our other location reviews, you can find them below.

What will the Jaguars’ defensive tackles need after free agency?

The demand here is twofold and quite high. As we can see from the depth chart above, the Jaguars need bodies at this position group. Improving depth and competitiveness is a must.

But beyond that, the position needs more pass rush. While the Jaguars were strong against the run last season, the interior defensive line struggled to generate a consistent pass rush throughout the game and into the postseason.
