president Donald Trump I purposely didn’t call CNN. Christine Holmes at a press conference after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected his administration’s imposition of sweeping tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
At press conference, Trump accuses judge of Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrettand chief justice John Roberts Last April, he declared that tariffs were “liberating” for the U.S. economy, and he was viewed as a “fool and a stooge” when he claimed that the tariffs were illegal.
When question time came, Trump shook his finger at Holmes and said, “No, no… I’m not talking to you. I’m talking to — I’m not talking, I’m not talking to CNN. This is fake news!” before telling another reporter: “Go ahead.”
Earlier in the day, Holmes reported that Trump was “outraged” after learning of the Supreme Court’s ruling at an annual White House breakfast with the nation’s governors.
“We know a lot more about what happened in the room with President Trump when he was with those governors, and he was informed about the Supreme Court ruling,” Holmes said outside the White House. “Obviously, the breakfast was going well. They were working together. And then President Trump got angry. He started yelling about the decision and not only called it a disgrace, but at one point started attacking the court, saying, ‘These damn courts,’ and using the real language that’s out there.”
About an hour later, Fox News reported Jacqui Heinrich A tweet casting doubt on Holmes’ report wrote: “The President of the United States reacted to the tariff ruling during the governors’ breakfast: ‘An aide came in and handed him a note, which he called a disgrace, and then he continued his remarks,'” according to sources outside the administration.
Heinrich added that her reporting “contradicts CNN’s reporting of the expletive-filled rant.”
white house communications director Zhang Zhiwei Heinrich retweeted, writing: “CNN is fake news.”
