Will Anderson Jr. has had quite an impact with the Texans in his three seasons in the NFL, with last season being his best yet – and now, the team has made sure to keep him in Houston and pay him handsomely for his services.
Anderson Jr. agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Texans on Friday, which will rewrite NFL history. That’s because Anderson Jr. signed a three-year, $150 million deal that includes $134 million guaranteed, which will make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history. Anderson Jr. has signed a rookie contract with the Texans through 2027 after the team picked up his fifth-year option.
Anderson Jr. was the Texans’ third overall pick in the 2023 draft and has been a staple in the defensive rotation ever since. He made an immediate impact, earning 2023 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. He has since earned Pro Bowl honors twice more.
