Tesla Inc. (Nasdaq: TSLA) Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk Praise Tesla for its new dry electrode process breakthrough in lithium battery manufacturing.
On Saturday, a user posted on social media platform @tslaming shared a Tesla patent application that shows the company using newer battery chemistries by employing a dry electrode process in the manufacturing process.

In short, the dry electrode process does not require N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), posing significant risks to the environment and human health.
Rather than coating the electrode with a wet solvent, the dry electrode process uses heat or pressure to coat the active material directly on the electrode, which then helps ions move from the cathode to the anode and vice versa.
