Ex-Rams RB Darrell Henderson Jr. signs with CFL team

Less than a month after releasing a video teasing his comeback, former Los Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson Jr. is headed to the Canadian Football League.

The Saskatchewan Rough Riders announced Friday that they have signed Henderson Jr., three years after he last played an NFL game for Los Angeles. Henderson, 28, played for the Rams from 2019 to 2023, rushing 442 times for 1,854 yards and 15 touchdowns.

He also had a brief stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars late in the 2022 season but never played a game for them. Afterwards, Henderson Jr. briefly returned to the Rams in 2023, but only played four games before being released. That same season, Kyren Williams emerged as the Rams’ starting running back. Williams rushed 224 times for 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns in just 12 games.

The Roughriders’ first game of the season is June 13 against the BC Lions.
