A Liverpool star could be leaving in a year’s time. If only one of Europe’s major clubs had their way.
Giovanni Leoni had an extremely unfortunate first year at Liverpool. The centre-back didn’t even finish a game before suffering a serious knee injury.

That injury ruled him out for the rest of the season, and it’s likely we won’t see Leoni again until the middle of next season. If we see him in a Liverpool shirt again, that is.
Inter Milan want to sign the prodigy, just as they had hoped before Liverpool stepped in last summer. Inter Milan claim they are working on a deal to try and bring the Italian back to his homeland from Anfield.
But they are absolutely not interested in direct loan deals. That would allow Liverpool to recuperate the player before sending him back – and for Inter Milan, that won’t be enough.
Instead, they are seeking a permanent transfer, perhaps via an initial loan. If Liverpool so chooses, Leoni’s time at the club will be shortened significantly.
