Apple Arcade will add five new games in September and October, including the popular indie game “Balatro” and the popular basketball simulation game “NBA 2K25 Arcade Edition.” In addition to the two main games, Apple will also add Food Truck Pup+, Furistas Cat Cafe+ and Smash Hit+. The new additions follow NFL Retro Bowl ’25, Monster Train+ and Apple Vision Pro game Puzzle Sculpt; all three games will be added to the gaming subscription service on September 5th.
In addition to games, the iPhone maker also announced updates to existing arcade games such as Wylde Flowers, Sonic Dream Team, Outlanders 2: Second Nature, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and more.
Balatero+
Balatro launched on PC and consoles earlier this year and was a breakout success. This poker-themed roguelike deck-building game was created by one person and is now available on iOS and Android on September 26th. Balatro+, the Apple Arcade version of the game, will launch on the same day without ads, microtransactions or upfront fees.
In Balatro, players combine playing cards with Joker cards that have their own abilities. Players then must beat increasingly difficult antes, each consisting of a small blind, a big blind, and a big blind, which brings unique challenges to the table, such as debuffs to certain cards. To defeat the Boss Blinds and clear the final bet, players will need skill, quick thinking, and a little luck! Balatro+ will launch on Apple Arcade on September 26 and will be playable on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro.
