Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Has Reached Over 4 Million Players, Says Microsoft

Microsoft confirmed on Wednesday during its fiscal 2025 second quarter earnings call that the number of players of “Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Circle” has exceeded 4 million. The action-adventure game from developer MachineGames will be released in December 2024 on PC and Xbox Series S/X. The game will also be coming to PlayStation 5 later this year. “Indiana Jones and the Circle” is adapted from Lucasfilm’s “Indiana Jones” film series.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Player Count

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella confirmed the game’s player count to investors during the company’s second-quarter earnings call. “We’ve seen rave reviews for Raiders of the Lost Ark and the game, which has been played by more than 4 million people,” he said.

Nadella didn’t specify platforms, but the number likely represents player counts on PC, Xbox and Game Pass. Since launch, Indiana Jones and the Big Circle has been available through Microsoft’s gaming subscription service. Game Pass subscribers likely make up a large portion of the 4 million players who have played the game so far.

Sales and players will also increase when the game is released on PS5 in the first half of 2025. Publisher Bethesda has yet to confirm a release date for the platform.

Raiders of the Lost Ark, Black Ops 6 drive game pass growth

During the earnings call, Nadella also confirmed that “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” was the best-selling game on Xbox and PlayStation in the second quarter. Nadella added that the shooter, which launches in October 2024, attracted more players during its launch quarter than any other premium game in the series’ history.

With major games like Black Ops 6 and Raiders of the Lost Ark launching on Game Pass on day one, the subscription service has also seen record growth. Nadella said that Game Pass set a new quarterly revenue record, and the number of PC users increased by more than 30% in the second quarter of fiscal 2025.

Overall, however, Microsoft’s gaming revenue fell 7%, with growth in content and services offset by lower hardware sales. Microsoft Chief Financial Officer Amy Hood said that Xbox content and services revenue increased 2% in the quarter due to stronger-than-expected performance from Blizzard and Activision content, including “Call of Duty.”
