MSI Claw 7 A2HM Reportedly in Development; Could Feature Intel or AMD Processor

MSI may launch a new Claw-branded handheld gaming console in the coming months, and a new model was recently spotted on the company’s spare parts website. The Taiwanese company hasn’t revealed the specs of this new model, but the model number (as well as MSI’s previous products) suggests that the alleged MSI Claw 7 A2HM will be equipped with either an Intel CPU or an AMD Ryzen processor. It may be an updated version of MSI Claw 7.

MSI Claw 7 A2HM may use Intel or AMD processor

X (formerly Twitter) user Huang514613 (@94G8LA) spotted the new model MSI Claw 7 A2HM (MS-1T41) on the MSI spare parts website. The user claims that the absence of the word “AI” in the model number indicates that it may be equipped with an AMD Ryzen Z2 series processor, which has a disabled neural processing unit (NPU).

If we refer to the models of handheld gaming consoles previously launched by MSI, the third letter in “A2HM” indicates the presence of an Intel processor. Meanwhile, the second letter may refer to the second-generation Intel Core Ultra processors.

It sounds like the MSI Claw A2HM may come with an Intel Core Ultra 200H processor. Like the Ryzen Z2 chip, it doesn’t meet Microsoft’s requirements for a Copilot PC, unlike the company’s latest handheld gaming console.

An unreleased listing for the MSI Claw 7 A2HM reveals that the device was certified by the Japan Audio Association in February (via VideoCardz). Not long ago, the company launched the MSI Claw 8 AI+ and Claw 7 AI+ equipped with Intel Lunar Lake CPU and 8-inch display.

It’s worth noting that MSI hasn’t announced any plans to launch a new handheld gaming console. However, there are enough clues that the new model is an unreleased model that could be released as an updated version of the MSI Claw 7 in the coming months.
