Andrew Nembhard sparks the Pacers to a 116-105 victory over the Kings

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Andrew Nembhard had 28 points and a season-high 12 assists to help the Pacers regain control of the game in the fourth quarter as they beat the Sacramento Kings 116-105 on Monday night.

Benedict Maturin scored 25 points and Pascal Siakam scored 23 for the Pacers, who notched their best season of the season, winning their second straight game and improving their overall record to 6-18. Indiana has won four of six games after a 2-16 start.

Russell Westbrook had 24 points, 14 assists and 13 rebounds for the Kings, his fourth triple-double of the season and the 207th of his career. DeMar DeRozan scored 20 points and Zach LaVine scored 16 points.

Indiana was in control for much of the game, extending its first-half lead from 66-51 to 77-58 on Nembhard’s layup with 8 1/2 minutes left in the third quarter. But the Kings scored 37 points in the fourth quarter to chase the score to 92-88, and then went on an 11-0 run under Westbrook’s basket to lead 101-97.

Nembhard hit a three-pointer, Mathurin also hit a three-pointer, and Indiana regained the lead 103-101. Nemhard then scored another 3 points and a layup, and the Pacers extended their lead to 108-101.

The Kings (6-18) are trying to win two straight games for the second time this season with a win in Miami on Saturday.
