Xbox One Games Not Loading? Console Too Slow? Here’s Something That Can Help

Have you ever found yourself in the middle of an intense game session on Xbox One only to have your game suddenly slow down, or see your game freeze when there were no issues before? Some people have also reported issues loading the game, where you keep seeing the loading screen for the game but it doesn’t actually load.

The problem may be with the cache on your console, so before trying to reinstall the game or send your console in for repair, try clearing the cache. If your game is slowing down, freezing, or not loading, this handy how-to should save you some trouble. Unlike the Xbox 360, the Xbox One doesn’t have a menu option to clear the cache on the console. However, clearing your cache is very simple and you only need to follow a few steps.

There are two methods you can try and follow. The first one has only one step and is probably the quickest way to solve your problem. The first method is to hold down the power button for 10 seconds, which will reset the console. If that doesn’t work, you can try a slightly longer method.

1. First, press and hold the power button on the console until it turns off completely.
2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console.
3. Now, you have to make sure that all the remaining power in the Xbox One battery is drained, so wait two minutes and press the power button four times.
4. Plug the power cord back into the console.
5. Wait for the light on the power brick to change from white to orange.
6. Use the power button to turn on the console.

This will perform a cold restart of the console, clearing the cache. This should resolve most issues related to gaming performance.
