Wright State falls to Virginia in first round of NCAA Tournament

The Wright State Raiders lost to the Virginia Cavaliers 73-82 in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday.

At halftime, the No. 14 Raiders led the No. 3 Cavaliers 43-38.

The game remained close in the second half, but with Virginia taking the lead with just over four minutes left, Wright State was unable to regain the lead.

Four Raiders scored in double figures. Power forward Michael Imariagbe had a double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing rebounds.

Sophomore guards Solomon Callahan and TJ Burch scored 18 and 15 points respectively, and freshman guard Michael Cooper scored 13 points off the bench.

The Horizon League champions finished the season with a 23-12 record.

Virginia now awaits the winner of the No. 13 Miami Redhawks and No. 6 Tennessee Volunteers.
