The Washington men’s basketball team may not want to think about the Michigan situation just yet. The Huskies, led by head coach Danny Sprinkle, have lost two straight games at home against Michigan and Michigan State in just a few days. However, these are two very different games, and the final press conference had a different tone.
The loss to Michigan was close for much of the game, and Sprinkle expressed some frustration at the news conference with how the game was officiated. After Saturday’s loss to the Spartans, Sprinkle offered effusive praise for Michigan State’s program, culture and Tom Izzo. You can see his comments below:

“Obviously there’s trouble. We came up against a program that has a great tradition, has great habits for the 40 minutes… When you watch the teams coached by Coach Izzo, their habits are… that’s why they were so successful in 35-40 years. They were relentless, their intensity, their toughness. They didn’t have a lot of breakdowns and all of their players played at an impressive advantage. You could see us getting tired at the end.

Their offense is very fast. Fiers is a great point guard, man, and he moves the ball up that floor and their wings are running. They put a lot of pressure on you in transition and rebounding. Not just for us, they do it for every team they play on. When you play against a team he coaches, you have to be ready to have a good game.
