Going into Las Vegas, the Thunder were viewed as the clear favorite. The defending NBA champions look like one of the greatest teams of all time. Most people picked them to go back-to-back because they were talking about joining the 70-win club.

On the contrary, the return of Victor Wembanyama presented insurmountable difficulties. The Thunder dispatched him early as they enjoyed four days of rest as a consolation before resuming play.
