[Update] PlayStation Network Back Online After Massive Outage That Removed Access to Online Store and Games

The PlayStation Network service has been shut down on all platforms, leaving players unable to access PSN features, the PlayStation Store, and several games. Affected users were unable to log into their PSN accounts or access the Internet. The PlayStation Plus service has also been shut down. Sony confirms that some PlayStation Network services are experiencing issues. The outage affects PS5, PS4, PS3, PS Vita users, as well as users trying to connect to PSN services on the web and other platforms.

Sony’s PSN service status page confirmed the outage at 6:51 a.m. Tuesday, with Account Management, Games & Social, and PlayStation Store services all affected. “You may be experiencing difficulty launching games, applications, or network features. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience,” the page explains.

While multiplayer is closed, some offline games can be brought online. However, single-player games that require a PSN connection are also inaccessible.
