Upcoming Electric Scooters in India: Honda Activa EV, TVS Jupiter EV, and More

The electric two-wheeler segment has gained considerable traction this year. We have seen multiple brands launching e-scooters in the country at different price points. That said, major bike manufacturers are also looking at this area. We have brands like Honda, TVS and Suzuki reportedly working on electric vehicles that could be launched in the first half of 2025. With the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 coming up, one might expect several electric scooters to be launched in the Indian market. That said, in this article, we will focus primarily on three electric two-wheelers, which are among the most anticipated launches in the coming months. So, without further ado, let’s get started.

Honda Yaden electric car

Honda Motor Company is reportedly working on launching its first electric scooter in the Indian market in March 2025.

Specification

Honda Activa EV may have similarities with Activa 110. The two-wheeler may come with two removable and replaceable Honda power bank packs. The scooter is also likely to come with an on-board fully digital touchscreen instrument console, keyless start and stop functionality. After being fully charged, the cruising range is expected to reach 100+ kilometers.

The upcoming electric car is expected to be priced around Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom). The scooter could be a direct competitor to the Ola S1, TVS iQube and Ather 450. Honda Activa EV is expected to make its global debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi in January next year.

TVS Jupiter EV

TVS will also reportedly launch two electric vehicles in India within the next six months. According to multiple reports, the brand may launch an electric car for the B2B market, while the other could be an electric version of its popular scooter TVS Jupiter.

Specification

The Jupiter EV is expected to be a mass-market product, aimed at daily commuters. The two-wheeler is expected to have a range of 70-80 kilometers on a single charge.

The scooter is expected to be priced under Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom).

Suzuki Burgman electric car

According to Gaadiwaadi, the Japanese automaker’s first electric scooter could be the Burgman EV. The scooter is expected to enter production in December 2024. Suzuki has also reportedly set an annual sales target of 25,000 units for the Burgman EV.

Specification

The two-wheeler is expected to come with a fixed battery pack instead of a removable battery as claimed in previous spy shots. Not much information has been revealed about the two-wheeler yet.

The scooter, codenamed XF091, is expected to make its debut at the Bharat Mobility World Expo 2025 in January next year. The price of the vehicle was not disclosed.
