Two other businesses have left Henrietta’s South Town Square.
Plato’s Closet, a Minneapolis-based chain that specializes in buying and selling second-hand fashion clothing and accessories for teens and young adults, recently closed its South Town store “due to the condition of the plaza,” according to a sign on the door.
Most of the property is owned by Mason Asset Management of Great Neck, New York. Henrietta town officials have long criticized the company for failing to maintain the square. They even hired town crews to fix large potholes in the parking lot.
In its messaging, Plato’s Closet (which opened in South Town in 2007) encourages shoppers to visit its two other area stores at 2833 West Ridge Road, Ridgemont Plaza, Greece, and 30 Cobblestone Court Drive, Cobblestone Court, Victor.
Andy’s Candies has moved its Henrietta store from South Town Plaza to Jay Scutti Plaza.
Local chocolatier Andy’s Candies, which has been operating seasonally in South Town for 15 years, has relocated to Jay Scutti Plaza South, 1000 Hylan Drive, Henrietta.
Owner Craig Sykut said he relocated the Henrietta store due to ongoing construction in Southtown. (Last November, Syracuse-based Dunk & Bright Furniture purchased the old Burlington space and Southtown’s Monument Sign and remodeled them.)
Andy’s Candies also has locations in Greece, Penfield and Victor. The Jay Scutti Plaza store is now open for Easter.
On Feb. 2, Henrietta Supervisor Stephen Schultz said the town was working to bring together Mason Asset Management and local developers in hopes of returning 500,000 square feet of South Town to local owners.

∎ Virginia-based The Dollar Tree, also in 2025, but the exact time is unclear.
∎ In May 2025, Joann, the Ohio-based artisanal retailer, closed stores across the country.
∎ In 2018, the headquarters in Burlington, New Jersey, moved to the old Toys “R” Us at Jay Scutti Plaza North, 300 Hylan Drive.
∎ In 2008, the New Jersey-based retailer closed all of its stores.
