WWE’s Jade Cargill is currently on the road to her third WrestleMania, and she’s getting a crash course in fan favorite Rhea Ripley. The Cargill vs. Ripley matchup is a nail-biting showdown that pits two of the most physically imposing women on the roster against each other.

On the other hand, there’s Ripley. Ripley’s never-back-down character endeared him to people. With several of her Mania classics under her belt, the WWE Universe knew that if she competed at Mania, it would be exciting.
So when a reputation like that is in front of you, it sets an expectation. To be honest, that’s not the case with Cargill. There was certainly a healthy sense of optimism behind her showdown with Naomi at Wrestlemania 41. The two have gotten to know each other well over the past year or so. I’m sure it had a big positive impact on the game. On the surface, Cargill’s rivalry with Ripley involves two alpha females. One has proven more than the other so far. That’s part of the appeal of this game.
Jed Cargill must deal with it alone
It’s another aspect that explains why Cargill’s WrestleMania season is different, as she doesn’t have anyone from the previous Big Three stable by her side. Naomi is on maternity leave and Bianca Belair is recovering from finger surgery. The focus of this moment is on how Cargill will sink or swim on its own. That in itself comes with stress, but I’m confident Cargill won’t have any trouble. The current WWE Women’s Champion has moments like this every time someone puts her in front of her. How fans receive this will have a big impact on WrestleMania.

But the biggest difference in Cargill’s road to WrestleMania this year is that she takes the stage as the WWE Women’s Champion. The company believed she was someone they could build around. She captured the attention of the marquee and elicited a roaring response from the audience. When you become a champion, it’s a co-signing with a big company. Her feud with Ripley would mean one of two things. WWE either wants to help Cargill get to the next level in the current competition. Or maybe they want to make the fan-favorite champion a new addition to the divisional series.
No matter which path they ultimately take, the animosity between the two alphas is palpable. Some of it stemmed from a war of words on X about Cargill, which said it gave Ripley a lot of chances. When these emotions are added to the equation, it helps the confrontation between these two women become a must-see. There is no doubt that this April, I will sitting for this fight.
