On3 just released its 2025 All-American Freshman Team, and two players from the Georgia Bulldogs are on the list: defensive lineman Elijah Griffin and offensive lineman Dontrell Glover. Both freshmen played a vital role in holding the trenches for the Bulldogs.
Glover is a three-star signee who faces an uphill battle for the starting job in training camp. However, with redshirt freshman Daniel Calhoun suffering a foot injury in the spring and Juan Gaston looking rough, Glover has earned enough trust to become the starting right guard. He performed admirably, earning a 63.1 grade from Pro Football Focus, with a pass blocking grade of 71.3 and a run blocking grade of 61.8.

Griffin came out of high school with sky-high expectations. He was a five-star prospect, the third-ranked recruit in the country, and was named to the On3 Preseason All-American Team. He played pretty well, although his stat sheet doesn’t show it as he only managed 18 tackles, one pass deflection and one sack. His overall PFF grade was 68.7, with a run defense grade of 70.1 and a pass rush grade of 65.1.
Some Georgia freshmen failed to advance. Former five-star offensive lineman Juan Gaston was named to the preseason All-American team. He had 460 snaps this year, but his PFF grade was only 58.0. He could be the first one hired next year. Former four-star Elyiss Williams was the strong receiving tight end behind Oscar Delp and Lawson Luckie, but he only totaled 128 snaps and was mostly used as a blocker after Ethan Barbour’s unexpected injury.
Georgia usually gets the best out of its freshman players regardless, so don’t be surprised if more of the 2025 class get a chance to start for the Bulldogs next year. Freshman defensive back Rasean Dinkins had a breakout game for the Bulldogs in the SEC Championship game against Alabama.
