Travis Kelce discusses not making emotional decisions about his future

During a recent episode of the New Heights Podcast, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce revealed when he will know he will return to the field next season, midway through the 2025 season.

“I think I took Jason Kelce’s advice, I took his advice. It was taking a step back because you can’t let your emotions get clear, you have to have a clear mind. I made decisions based on emotion, and, you know, they don’t always play out the right way. “So I want to take a step back and let my emotions settle and get over the frustrations of the season. Of course, I want to come back and not end my career without making the playoffs and not having my best year and definitely having a down year and so on.”

The anticipation and pressure surrounding his decision didn’t bother Kelce, who took his brother’s advice and took some time to gather his thoughts.

“I want to take a step back and let it develop. And, you know, what are my aspirations? How does my body feel? How do I feel going into and ending this year, where is my body, you know, even letting it settle, I still feel like I’m hungry and want to get back to it. “There’s still a little bit of that, that grit and that emotion, you know, I (expletive) I hated how it ended like last year and I wanted to make it right, you know, get another chance in another (f******) Super Bowl.”

Kelce is entering his 14th NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs and his desire for more success is strong.
