Does anyone know what life was like before pop tart bowls? I don’t like it and I definitely don’t want to go back.
For those who don’t know, the Pop Tarts Bowl is part of the postseason college football schedule (NCAAF Bowl Series). There are dozens of these undercard games to help prepare Team USA for the national championship.

One has become the unofficial People’s Champion: the Pop Tarts Bowl.
It’s everything you could ask for in American football culture. Two football teams compete in a huge stadium, sponsored by the most delicious breakfast pastries you’ve ever seen. Oh, and the trophy also doubles as a toaster.
The legend of the Pie Bowl continues to grow, too.
After the first Pop-Tart Bowl in 2023, the Strawberry Pop-Tart mascot was sacrificed by being placed into a giant toaster on the field, where the winning team ate the cooked remains.

A year later, the flan has essentially been resurrected. Cinnamon roll pie was an offering then.
2025 is coming — the biggest bowl game yet.
Three Pop-Tart mascots — Protein Slammin’ Strawberry, Cookies & Creme and Cherry — stood atop a giant toaster after BYU defeated Georgia Tech at Camping World Stadium in Florida. But while the second and third mascots expressed excitement about being put into the toaster, Slamming Strawberry was treated to a vision of “It wasn’t my dream…” before jumping out of the toaster. The remaining two men then descended and were sacrificed.

But it’s not over, at least not yet, and Slammin Strawberry has left a mark that hints at a possible return next year.
That said, who cares who wins the national championship? Who really cares who wins the Pop-Tart Bowl? All I care about is the new mythology behind it.
