Texas A&M will enter SEC play Tuesday night with a 15-1 record after leading SFA, with the Aggies’ only loss this year coming against No. 1 UCLA, who looks to be the most complete team in the country. Second-year head coach Michael Earley revealed on Thursday that star transfer hitters Chris Hakopian and Wesley Jordan will return to the lineup after long absences.
While the Aggies’ offense has been impressive without Hakopian and Jordan in the lineup, Texas A&M’s pitching staff has been the pleasant surprise of the SEC this season, with starters Sean Stalls, Weston Moss and Aiden Sims combining for an 8-1 record, with Moss’s 5.21 ERA inflated by a start against UCLA, the team’s worst performance so far this year.

Stall, who returned to the mound for the first time in nearly a year due to injuries, looked a natural fit for Friday’s start, striking out 25 and allowing seven runs in four games. Moss would see the remainder of the game as the starter, while Aiden Sims was outstanding, leading the Aggies with a 1.59 ERA and maintaining an undefeated record heading into the divisional round.
Heading into Norman this weekend against No. 12 Oklahoma, all three starters will need to last at least five to six innings and the offense will need to move in order to give the Aggies a chance to win two of three games. For the Sooners, their starting pitching has been equally impressive and will be counted on to give their batting lineup some breathing room.
Ahead of Friday’s Game 1, here are the projected starting pitching rotations for Texas A&M and Oklahoma:
