Tatiana Veronica Masset Alba
Bolivian authorities have ordered six months of preventive detention for a 22-year-old Uruguayan woman allegedly linked to drug trafficker Sebastian Masset.
Bolivian authorities accused the Uruguayan woman of being part of a criminal organization and engaging in arms trafficking.
Bolivian prosecutors identified the suspect as Tatiana Verónica Marset Alba, who was allegedly part of a security system protecting Uruguayan drug traffickers.
The judge ordered the suspects to be held in Palma Sola prison.
Police commander Mirko Sokol and Justice Minister Roger Mariaca claimed that Masset Alba had family and professional ties to criminal groups and was involved in logistical activities during his time with the security team.
Bolivian authorities claim Masset Alba was arrested early in the morning at a location that serves as a “safe house” for members of the drug trade.
The suspect is said to have worked with two Colombian nationals and a Venezuelan national in a protection and surveillance group that protects drug traffickers.
Police also showed weapons they said they had seized from the scene, including submachine guns, rifles, pistols and bulletproof vests. Despite the accusations, Masset Alba also smiled for the camera during his appearance.
The group allegedly uses advanced armored vehicles and technology to evade law enforcement, officials claim.
Authorities also seized 10 luxury cars and 16 small aircraft for forensic testing.
The court also ordered six months of preventive detention in Palmasola prison for the three foreigners arrested with her: Colombian citizens Jessen Javier Ortega Alvarez and Jaime Andrés Rodríguez Plata, and Venezuelan citizen Mike Samir Torres Salgado.
Authorities claimed that Masset Alba had previously traveled to Paraguay and was detained in Spain in 2025, but was eventually released without charge.
Authorities also claim that the Bolivian Attorney General’s Office will request information from Uruguay, Paraguay and the United States to confirm whether they have any criminal records while continuing to pursue cases against groups linked to Masset Alba.
