A spokesperson for the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team confirmed to TNIAAM on Wednesday that the team will not participate in the 2026 Players’ Day.
Syracuse is one of 18 teams competing in the 2025 NIL Championship, which will be hosted in Las Vegas. The team’s record as a player was 0-3, with losses to the University of Houston, the University of Kansas and Iowa State University.

The spokesperson also confirmed whether Syracuse was paid for participating in Players Day last year. Sportico previously reported that several projects involved were still awaiting NIL payments.
“Syracuse University has received tournament bonuses for the 2025 event,” the spokesperson wrote in a statement to TNIAAM.
Most recently, it was unclear whether Syracuse would participate in the 2026 edition of the tournament, which was first held in 2024 with eight teams.
In a mid-February post on social media, Players Era singled out Syracuse guard Kiyan Anthony and said the 2026 field will be “an elite group powered by all returning items from 2025.”

Including Syracuse, a total of 18 teams are participating in the 2025 tournament. Syracuse and Notre Dame were the only two schools in the ACC that participated in last season’s event.
Initial reports suggest Syracuse may not return to Vegas next year.
In a recent article published by Sportico, the outlet stated that “several events” that were scheduled to participate in the 2026 Players’ Era Championship are “now unlikely to participate.” Syracuse is one of the programs mentioned in the story.
Regarding the 2026 schedule, Syracuse has reportedly locked in two opponents: a neutral-site game against Providence in Boston and a game against Indiana University in Indianapolis. The Orange will also face a third opponent to be determined as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge.
