The Giants didn’t start off strong in this game, so they didn’t have a lead. In fact, they didn’t lead at any point. It was just another disappointing Sunday in a long line of disappointing Sundays for Giants fans.

Here’s a look at the stars, stars and centerpieces from the Giants’ 29-21 loss to the Commanders in Week 15.

Stallion: RB Tyrone Tracy, Jr.

Tracy had 97 yards from scrimmage (70 rushing, 27 receiving) and two touchdowns – one rushing and one receiving. It was a solid performance for the second-year player who was looking to build on his rookie season, but a shoulder injury and the arrival of Cam Scatterbo put a damper on his performance. Participate in these programs. With three games left, he has a chance to finish strong.

Dumb: Special Team

This team has been hit by some injuries throughout the year, but they haven’t been able to fill the gaps with capable players. They were without punter/holder Jamie Gillan and all of their top returners for this game. Younghoe Koo’s two missed field goals and Jaylin Lane’s 63-yard punt return for a touchdown illustrated the team’s lack of understanding of the importance of special teams. There’s no point in firing anyone right now, but it doesn’t look like they’re going to keep the majority of the coaching staff.

Stud: Safety Dane Belton

Belton continued to play. He had eight total sacks in the game (four of them solo) and two forced fumbles, but did allow Terry McLaurin to get past him and Paulson Adebo for a long touchdown.

Loser: WR Darius Slayton

For those who think Slayton’s dropsy is behind him, think again. The Giants signed Slayton to a three-year, $36 million contract last offseason and need him to play at a key position. The seven-year veteran had two key fumbles, one in the end zone, that cost the Giants dearly.

Stallion: QB Jaxson Dart

Dart’s skills haven’t been honed very well yet. Where the Giants could use their magic, he did have a few misfires. All in all, it was a good statistical day (36 carries for 20 for 224 yards and two touchdowns, plus nine carries for 53 yards), but he did get a scare late in the game when he was shot in the head and had to be evaluated in the blue medical tent.

Stallion: LB Abdul Carter

Carter is starting to shine now and all of his off-field issues appear to be a thing of the past. Totaling seven interceptions, one sack, three tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. This line is more like what the Giants were hoping for when they drafted Carter third overall last April.
