Stephanie Han vs Holly Holm result: Holm falls short in world title bid, loses technical decision

Holly Holm Tonight, she tried to win her first boxing world title in more than a decade, but ultimately lost to the WBA lightweight champion Stephanie Han Determined by technology.

The fight was stopped in the seventh round as Han (12-0, 3 KOs) suffered injuries from an accidental collision of the head. The wound may not have looked that bad, even though that was the decision of the doctor who decided to stop the fight, and some of that “not looking so bad” may just be Han’s team working quickly and solidly while they had time to stop the fight.

Holm, 44, drops to 34-3-3 (9 KOs) in boxing. This was her second fight since 2013, after which she devoted herself full-time to her mixed martial arts career and achieved great success in the UFC.

Official scores from the judges were 68-65, 69-65 and 69-64, seven of the scheduled 12 rounds.

“Not being able to finish it was the hardest part. She had a lot of volume and I was kind of waiting for the later rounds to take over, and you can’t do that when it happens. I didn’t want it to end like that.”

About the rematch: “Of course. No one wants the fight to end like this. I don’t.”
