Steelers have major left tackle problem heading into Week 15

The Pittsburgh Steelers are dealing with some serious left tackle injuries heading into Week 15’s Monday Night Football game against the Miami Dolphins, and the fourth-stringer appears to be preparing for his first NFL start.

With starting left tackle Broderick Jones out for the season with a neck injury, backup left tackle Andrus Peete suffering a concussion and third-line left tackle Calvin Anderson recovering from a knee injury, fourth-line left tackle Dylan Cook will likely earn the starting job Monday night after making his NFL debut last Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

Cook signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and spent time on and off the practice squad before being waived by Tampa Bay on May 15, 2023.

Cook signed with Pittsburgh three days later and even managed to make the final roster. After spending the next two seasons on and off the Steelers’ practice squad, Cook’s number finally came into play in Week 14 against Baltimore, where he didn’t allow any quarterbacks to rush and didn’t throw in nine pass interceptions.
