FLORENCE — Claire Folkerts hit two homers in Game 1 and Allie Borgmann had three hits in the nightcap, but the Lady Trojans lost to undefeated Florence in a softball doubleheader on Friday.
The Falcons won the final game 5-0 and were the B State runner-up a year ago. They scored four runs in the fourth inning to take an 11-4 lead in the first inning; then, they hit Maggie Schnatter’s three-run home run in the seventh inning to win 10-8.

Troy (6-3) swung the bat. Fulkots hit two-run home runs in the second and fourth innings of the opener and had an RBI double in the sixth inning. Teammate Ella Wallace added a solo shot in the fifth.
The trouble was that Jaden Fisher had two home runs, a double and a five-run double for the Falcons, and he had nine extra hits and drove in a total of 14 runs. Taylor Pyette had a double and triple and scored three runs. In the circle, Fisher limited Troy to seven hits, one hit and four earned runs. She fanned seven times.
In the second inning, the Trojans were on the attack, with the Lady Trojans scoring five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take an 8-7 lead. Borgman’s RBI single and Ainsley Whitron’s two-run single started the game, followed by Florence’s error on a pair of fly balls and a pair.
Florence got singles from Haley Arrington and Gemma Bouma before Schnatter’s home run in the seventh inning. In the bottom of the inning, Troy got a two-out double from Borgman, but no runs were scored.
Huitron and Hailey Dungan had two hits in the nightcap. Borgman went 5-for-7 on the day.
