Small plane makes emergency landing in rural Tennessee. What to know

On February 24, a small plane had to make an emergency landing in the area of ​​McKee Padilla Road in College Grove, Williamson County.

Officials said there were no injuries as a result of the emergency landing, but they did issue a statement around noon on February 24 warning area residents that “the number of first responders will be increased in the coming hours.”

The plane took off from nearby Murfreesboro around 11:15 a.m. before landing in Williamson County, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO).

The plane was discovered by WCSO Air-One pilot Lt. Justin Long, who confirmed there was a person on board.

The pilot successfully landed the plane safely.

As of 12:30 p.m., Williamson County Sheriff’s Office deputies remained on scene to assist and secure the area, authorities said, noting that people should avoid the area if possible.

No further details were available, including the cause of the emergency landing.
