COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Damon Severson broke a tie with a quick 3-pointer in traffic at 6:07 of the third quarter and the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Nashville Predators 3-2 on Tuesday night to open a four-game homestand.
The two teams played Monday night, with Columbus beating the Rangers 5-4 in overtime in New York while Nashville lost 4-2 at home to Detroit.

Adam Fantilli and Sean Monahan also scored for Columbus, and Monahan tied the game at 2 on a shorthanded goal with 1:52 left in the third period. He also scored a shorthanded goal in New York on Monday.
Jeter Greaves, who made 20 saves in 51 minutes, 44 seconds for Columbus, missed 8:16 of the first period after Nick Blankenburg hit Columbus in the side of the head with his elbow during a rush. Elvis Merzlikins stopped two shots before Greaves came back.
Filip Forsberg had a power-play goal for Nashville and Ryan O’Reilly added a second-period goal from Columbus. Midway through the third quarter, O’Reilly was slashed below the eye during a confrontation.
Justus Annunen stopped 24 shots for the Predators.

Before the game, Nashville traded center Michael McCarron to Minnesota for a 2028 second-round draft pick.
