LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Mohamed Salah continued his recovery at Liverpool and scored for the first time since early November in a Champions League win over Qarabag on Wednesday.
The Egyptian winger converted a free-kick in the 50th minute to give Liverpool a 3-0 lead at Anfield and put the English club on course to move into the top eight and advance directly to the last 16.

Salah has starred for Liverpool since 2017 but his future at Liverpool was thrown into doubt when he said in early December that he had been “thrown under the bus” after being sacked by head coach Arne Slott for a third game in a row.
His place at Liverpool was uncertain heading into the Africa Cup of Nations, but he has started three games in a row since returning from the Morocco game and has now scored his first goal since November 1 against Aston Villa.
In the 61st minute, Liverpool defeated Qarabag 5-0.
