Roy Keane reveals who he thinks will “miss out” on top five finish between Chelsea and Liverpool

Manchester United legend Roy Keane believes Chelsea will miss out on the Champions League and has backed Liverpool to overtake the Blues.

The Blues lost 5-2 to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday night, effectively bowing out of the season.

The top five is crucial, and Chelsea are currently in fifth place, level with Liverpool on points and three points behind Manchester United and Aston Villa in third and fourth respectively.

Roy Keane backs Chelsea to miss out on Champions League

Chelsea have reportedly told Liam Rogniol that Champions League qualification is crucial but the Blues face a tough task to finish in the top five.

However, Chelsea still have games to play against Liverpool and Manchester United, so a top-five spot could be in their hands.

All four teams in the competition are equally inconsistent and will drop more points between now and the end of the season.

Missing out on the Champions League would be a massive failure given last season’s success, but Keane believes the Blues will miss out in the end.

“I think Chelsea will miss. Chelsea will miss. Liverpool will do it,” he told Stick to Football.

The Blues face Newcastle at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night, a game they must win if they are to finish in the top five.
