The Rams got a first down, but Seattle’s defense forced a three-and-out, and Sam Darnold led the Sonics downfield with help from Kenneth Walker and scored on the extra point to make it 7-0.
The Rams were able to move the ball after the initial drive but had to settle for a field goal, but some points are better than no points, and after Seattle also added to the total, the Rams made it 10-6.
The Rams defense finally got to Darnold with a big sack, which forced Los Angeles to get the ball back before the two-minute warning. Los Angeles marched down the field and recorded their best shot of the day, when Stafford found Kyren Williams for a score with just over 1:50 left in the half.
The Rams led 13-10 after the extra point.

The Rams were even able to get the ball back on offense after a lackluster Seattle drive, but Los Angeles didn’t do much with the ball and they gave Seattle another chance to score with plenty of time left in the second quarter.
Darnold would rely on Jaxson Smith-Ngiba on this drive, which would come into play when Darnold moved the ball and found Darnold’s JSN in the end zone, making it 17-13 after the extra point.
When the second quarter officially ended, the score remained the same.
