Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have reportedly been banned from attending this year’s Royal Ascot Carnival.
The news comes amid concerns over their parents’ relationship with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The Princess of York will not join the royal family at the annual horse racing event in June, the Daily Mail reports.
The outlet noted that the sisters, the daughters of disgraced former prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, will not join other senior royals in the royal procession.
According to the outlet, the two women were “told they couldn’t participate this year” and were “blindsided.”
The Daughters of Mountbatten-Windsor have been a central part of the Royal Ascot Carriage Parade for many years and are a regular feature of the Royal Year.
Mountbatten-Windsor retired from public royal roles in 2019. The late Queen Elizabeth stripped her son of his military titles and patronage in January 2022.
Last October, his brother King Charles III stripped him of his remaining royal titles.
On February 19, he was arrested and detained by Thames Valley Police on suspicion of misconduct in public office. After being held for nearly 12 hours, he was released under investigation without any charges.
