Matt Campbell is expected to hire his second wide receivers coach this week, months after making his Penn State football debut.
In an effort to help the team’s most troubled position group, Campbell is looking to Colorado assistant Kashif Moore for leadership and answers, according to national reports including CBS Sports and 247Sports.

Moore, 37, was a standout receiver and assistant coach at Connecticut before leaving Colorado State this winter.
He replaces Noah Pauley, who just left Penn State’s new staff to become the Green Bay Packers’ receivers coach. Pauley graduated from Iowa State University with Campbell last December.

Where Kashif Moore previously coached the Penn State football team
Moore coached in high school before entering college football in 2020 with Division III Wesleyan University.
He coached receivers at Wesleyan, running backs at Cornell and FCS Albany receivers under former Penn State standout Greg Gattuso.
Moore returned to Connecticut in 2023 and immediately oversaw receiving stars TJ Sheffield and Skylar Bell, who each had over 50 catches the following year.

Bell set school records in 2025 with 101 catches for 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns. He earned All-American honors and was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation’s top receiver.
Kashif Moore must help turn around Penn State’s weakest link
Moore must immediately help elevate a Penn State receiving room that is in the midst of one of its most inconsistent and unproductive stretches in recent memory.
It hasn’t had a true star since Jahan Dotson in 2021 – the last PSU receiver with more than 53 catches in a season. The group was shut out in a College Football Playoff loss to Notre Dame and failed to make significant progress last season despite three transfers.

“Iowa State’s receiving room is our primary receiving room,” Campbell said on Feb. 4. “I knew we had to do some work on it to get it fresh again.”
Moore’s 2026 group will feature four transfers from Iowa State, one from Grambling and a handful of Penn State holdovers, albeit without significant contributions.
