Ola Electric Roadster X Series Specifications
The Ola Electric Roadster X series features a mid-drive motor and chain drive technology that is said to offer optimized performance and reliability. At the same time, the MCU was tweaked for better efficiency and range. The e-bike uses brake-by-wire technology that analyzes the brake position sensor and adjusts the type of braking, choosing between mechanical and regenerative braking. For maintenance and durability, the company offers a serviceable battery management system (BMS) and IP67 water and dust resistance certification.
They are powered by Ola’s new proprietary MoveOS 5, which brings features like Smartwatch App, Smart Park and Bharat Mood. The road trip mode is powered by the company’s in-house Ola Maps. According to Ola, the new operating system will also support real-time location sharing and emergency SOS features to ensure safety.
The entry-level Ola Electric Roadster X comes with LED headlights, 4-3-inch TFT LCD color segmented screen, front disc brake and turn-by-turn navigation. The company has also taken features like cruise control and reverse mode from the Ola Electric S1 Pro and introduced them into this product.
IDC claims that the e-bike has a range of up to 252 kilometers when equipped with a 4.5kWh battery pack. It is powered by a 7kW mid-mounted motor and can reach a top speed of 118 kilometers per hour (kmph). The 2.5kWh version accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.4 seconds, while the 3.5kWh and 4.5kWh versions accomplish the same task in a shorter 3.1 seconds. It also comes with a suite of security features including geofencing, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), tamper and fall detection alarms, and time fencing.
Meanwhile, the Ola Electric Roadster X+ has a claimed top speed of 125 km/h and IDC claims a range of 252 km and 501 km using a 4.5 kWh and 9.1 kWh battery pack respectively. The 9.1kWh model uses the company’s proprietary 4680 Bharat battery. Ola says it provides five times more energy, charges one and a half times faster and has a 10% longer range than the conventional 2170 lithium-ion battery used in other electric two-wheelers, including the Ola electric scooter S1 series. The e-bike is equipped with an 11kW mid-mounted motor that accelerates it from 0 to 40 km/h in 2.7 seconds. Features include energy insights, advanced regeneration, cruise control and reverse mode.
Notably, Ola Electric also launched the Roadster Pro at the August 15 event, but it is yet to be launched as part of the new Roadster series.
