Chaos in Sacramento: New video shows crash escalates into fight, shooting
(FOX40.COM) – Newly released video from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office shows the chaotic scene that unfolded Thursday night. They include the aftermath of a car crash, followed by a fight that escalated into a shooting that hit one person and a fire truck.

On Thursday at approximately 5:33 p.m., SCSO responded to the area of Fulton Avenue and Hurley Way for a report of a crash that escalated into a physical altercation. As deputies responded, they received reports of someone shooting into the crowd.

Police said the three suspects, 25-year-old Avieon Spencer, 35-year-old Antwon Pace and a 14-year-old teenager, were driving erratically in the parking lot, causing the vehicle to roll over. After the accident, in which Pace was injured, Spencer and the teen got out of the car.
According to SCSO, the suspect became upset after noticing bystanders recording the incident. video clip display A man appears to have assaulted another male victim and taken his phone. The identity of the attacker is not yet known. A female victim was also attacked, but her attacker was unable to take her mobile phone.

When officers tried to take Spencer into custody, police said a fight broke out. During that confrontation, the teen pulled out a gun and started shooting, which was captured on video.
One victim was shot with non-life-threatening injuries. A responding Sacramento Metro fire truck was also hit. The firefighters were forced to flee on foot but were not injured, SCSO said. Spencer and the teen reportedly fled the scene in different directions.
The teen was captured a short time later, according to SCSO. He was booked into the Sacramento County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and assault with a firearm on a firefighter.
The Sheriff’s K9 unit tracked Spencer at the scene and found him hiding in a nearby residential area, where he was arrested. After a medical evaluation, deputies said he was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of robbery and delaying an official. His bail was set at $50,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court on January 26.
A third suspect, Pace, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries related to the crash. SCSO said he will be arrested on the outstanding warrant after he is medically cleared.
