Chelsea kick off a busy month of December when they face Leeds United on Wednesday night, and Paul Merson has given his predictions for the game.
The Blues are currently six points behind leaders Arsenal and third in the Premier League after Sunday’s draw with the Gunners.

Enzo Maresca’s side remain unbeaten in November and have conceded just one goal in four league games last month and will be looking for more of the same in December.

Cole Palmer is fit and available and should get his first minutes since September 20 after being an unused substitute against Arsenal.
Maresca made just one change to his squad against Barcelona and Arsenal and is likely to make a host of changes during the trip to Elland Road.
Chelsea remain unbeaten in November.
Chelsea need to win this game if they are to be title contenders and their last visit to Leeds ended 3-0 under Thomas Tuchel.

The Premier League rookie ranking is 18th, but the Blues will face an intimidating atmosphere and Merson also gave his opinion.
“It’s an important game for Chelsea fans because they don’t get along well with Leeds fans,” he told Sportskeeda.
“This is a rivalry that goes back to the 1970s. Elland Road is going to be volatile and Chelsea have to be careful.
“In the first 20 minutes the crowd will be solidly behind Leeds and the home team will be cheering.
“Chelsea have to weather the early storm before they can play their football and go on to win.
“Prediction: Leeds United 1-2 Chelsea.”

Chelsea produced two very good performances against Barcelona and Arsenal, and Maresca will need to ensure they maintain that level against Leeds United.

The Blues need to focus on the task at hand and it could be argued that a win against Leeds would show more signs of improvement than a result against Arsenal or Barcelona.
Chelsea will need to bring the same level of intensity and keep their heads above water in a potentially hostile environment, but they have the ability to get the job done.
