NEW YORK — The Brooklyn Nets (17-47) pulled off a huge comeback victory over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday and couldn’t be happier with their performance despite facing impossible odds on the road. Brooklyn still has the rest of the season to play, and with the Memphis Grizzlies (23-40) visiting and most of their rotation out, the Nets managed to bring the intensity that helped them win.
The Nets defeated the Grizzlies 126-115 on Monday, leading by as many as 21 points as the Grizzlies were missing a number of players and Brooklyn’s overall shooting was poor. Center Daron Sharp had his best game of the season with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals, while guard Ochai Agbaji came off the bench and had 18 points and 3 rebounds in his best game with the Nets.

Memphis narrowed the deficit to 68-67 with 9:16 left in the third quarter, with players such as forward Rayan Rupert (20 points) and guard Javon Small (19 points) doing their part to help the Grizzlies comeback. Brooklyn extended its lead to 98-88 with 10:33 left in the fourth quarter, but Memphis was unable to take another big lead.
The Grizzlies have 10 inactive players heading into Monday’s game against the Nets, including players like Ja Morant who could make the team more competitive. In the end, Brooklyn relied on the contributions of Sharp, Agbaji and the entire bench. The Nets bench defeated the Memphis bench 67-40. The Grizzlies game also provides a chance for rookie guard Nolan Traore to respond after a poor performance in Saturday’s win over Detroit.
Against Memphis, Traore scored 17 points and dished out four assists in just 23 minutes, demonstrating his ability to bounce back from poor performances without needing much time to recover. The Nets are currently on a two-game winning streak, but they will have a tough game on the second night of a back-to-back as they face the visiting Pistons on Tuesday.
