Startup electric vehicle solutions provider Mobec Innovations on Wednesday announced the launch of a service that provides door-to-door charging facilities for electric vehicles.
Initially, the service will benefit over 200,000 electric vehicle (EV) users in the National Capital Region of Delhi. Mobec Innovations said in a statement that bookings can be made through the company’s app.
By the end of the first quarter of fiscal 2023-24, the company plans to expand its operations to tier-1 cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow and Jaipur, it added.
Mobec Innovations founder and CEO Harry Bajaj said the company has received a strong response from consumers in the National Capital Region of Delhi.
“Based on this, we have taken targeted steps to invest in top metros to immediately address the challenges of accessibility, availability and inadequate infrastructure,” he added.
The company said that with the help of fast charging technology, mobile charging vehicles can reach 80% of the optimal power in a short time.
Last week, Delhi’s transport department said the city’s electric vehicle policy will complete three years in August and has so far achieved around 86 per cent of its measures and targets.
The Delhi Transport Department and the Delhi Electric Vehicles (EV) Group have also initiated the process of drafting a revised ‘Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2.0’ through stakeholder consultations. “The city currently has over 4,300 charging points and 256 battery swapping stations at over 2,500 locations,” Delhi EV cell CEO N. Mohan said during the advisory meeting.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) plans to increase the number of electric vehicle charging stations in Lutyens Delhi and even provide battery swapping facilities at some of them.
