Yang scored twice to maintain his impressive recent form at Celtic Park, while Thomas Chivankara calmly converted a penalty for the second game in a row to help Martin O’Neill’s side win 3-1.
O’Neal shared his thoughts with Celtic TV after the game, praising the quality of the game and the performance of his players, which resulted in another important victory after a grueling four-game road trip.
The Celtic boss said: “The game lived up to its name. Both teams played well and it was a good game of football. We knew it was going to be tough for us and it was. Motherwell are a good team.

“We showed a lot of determination after giving them a goal behind and it was a really good performance. Young was definitely outstanding and he got the goal he deserved and I thought the power forward was outstanding as well.”
O’Neill also heaped praise on Celtic-linked Jens Bethel Askew during his post-match press conference with MSM.
“He and his team did a great, great job,” O’Neill outlined. “Really good, really, really good team. And always dangerous.”
“So they took some risks in the backfield, and so did we. But you want to try to break pressure, all those types of things. Imagine me talking about breaking pressure at 74.”

“But I think I said it in my notes, all of this was a great effort on their part. Really, really awesome. A really good team. Yeah, he did a great job.”
The Scottish champions’ next game is against Dundee United at Tannadice on Sunday afternoon, their last game before the international break. Normally we dread these boring breaks in the domestic schedule, but for Celtic and the management team this one could be a welcome respite after one of the most hectic schedules in recent months.

Three points on Sunday and a bit of revenge for our last visit there under Wilfried Nancy will be the boost we need until real football returns. Great to see the Celtic board and the Green Brigade sitting together again at Tannadice!
