Oklahoma City Thunder two-way player Peyton Sandford reached a major milestone on Wednesday. In a road win over the Brooklyn Nets, Sandford entered his first NBA game and made his first three-pointer in the final minute of the game.
About 12 hours later, he was back in Oklahoma City to support his brother, Price, as he and Nebraska faced off against Troy in the NCAA tournament.

“It worked. I’m happy that I’m here,” Sandford told HuldaSport. “It’s pretty special, especially playing on our home court.”
Sandford said he had dinner with the team after Wednesday’s game until about 1 a.m., then took a taxi at 3 a.m. to catch a 6 a.m. flight back to Oklahoma City.
“Last night was very special,” Sandford told Hurrdat Sports. “To be here now, hopefully it’s a special 24 hours.”
What’s even more special is that Pryce Sandfort performed well, hitting 5 three-pointers and scoring 17 points in the first half.
Peyton Sandford and the Thunder are on a five-game road trip and will face the Washington Wizards on Saturday. That means Sandford will have another short travel turnaround before that game and won’t be able to watch his brother if Nebraska advances. But Sandford says it’s worth it.

“Knowing this is his first tournament game, I want to be here to support him. I don’t even think he knows I’m here, but he’ll know,” Sandford said.
